Looping is an art. Also, I gotta say it’s hard for me to listen to my vocals on these takes!!! In the studio, we call these “scratch vocals” - which means that we don’t intend to use them in the final mix. So I’m just singing along but not focused on tone or pitch at all. My “job” when we’re tracking the band isn’t to sound good - it’s to listen to everyone else and think about what the song needs. So my vocals are very sheepish and “meh.” Ok that’s it.
